This is not a prerecorded online course and it is not a corporate course that hands your teen off to an unrelated school. Students learn in real time, ask questions, participate in class, and continue into local behind-the-wheel instruction with Drive Smart.
Both packages include the live 24-hour Zoom classroom and required in-car instruction. Choose whether you want the road test and document upload included.

Drive Smart’s Zoom program gives busy families the convenience of an online classroom while preserving the structure, interaction, and accountability of scheduled instruction.
Students attend scheduled classes with a live Drive Smart instructor. They can hear explanations, ask questions, and participate as the lesson happens.
The classroom comes to your teen through Zoom. Families avoid repeated trips to a physical classroom while keeping a defined class schedule and instructor guidance.
After the student becomes eligible for the in-car phase, driving and observation lessons are completed through Drive Smart in Carrollton or The Colony.

Students are expected to attend, participate, follow classroom requirements, and complete supporting Google Classroom work. Zoom brings the classroom home—it does not remove the accountability.

Families throughout North DFW can attend the classroom remotely and use either Drive Smart location for the in-car phase. This makes the program especially convenient for students near Carrollton, The Colony, Frisco, Lewisville, Plano, Little Elm, Coppell, Addison, Denton, and North Dallas.
Honest answer: Drive Smart’s live Zoom course and in-car instruction are paid services. We will not advertise a required paid course as “free.”
What Zoom can free your family from is the repeated commute to a classroom. Students receive live instruction at home while keeping a direct path to local in-car lessons in Carrollton or The Colony.
Students can also begin with a genuinely free resource: the official Texas Driver Handbook provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The handbook is useful for studying, but it does not replace the required teen driver education course.
