Requirements to Road Test

 

A physical copy of your valid license must be presented “DIGITAL” COPIES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN TEXAS.

Texas Department of Public Safety has mandated that as of April 15, 2021, you must have an unexpired license to road test, whether with us or anybody else, including the DPS.

Requirements To Road Test

Requirements 17 and younger

Must be 16 or older and have the following:

 

  • If using your own vehicle: Valid Insurance Card and a vehicle capable of passing inspection. You must have a current registration sticker on the windshield and front and back license plates on the car.
  • You can use our vehicle at no extra charge.
  • A legal Guardian or Parent must be present.
  • Valid Texas Learner License (can not be expired).
  • We cannot test prior to the 6-month date listed on the reverse side of the permit.

 

MUST BRING IT ON THE DAY OF THE ROAD TEST

IN PRINTED FORM THE FOLLOWING:

  • Driving School Certificate of Completion of TEEN Driver Education Course (For Drivers License Only Portion), OR
  • Parent-Taught Students – Obtain a For Drivers License Only PTDE-964 from a PT course provider.
  • Online Driver Education-Obtain a For Drivers License Only DE-964.
  •  Impact Texas Teen Drivers ITTD VIDEO Certificate

Requirements for 18 and older:

  • MUST BRING a valid B Restricted Texas Driver License
  • If you are 18 or older but completed a Teen Driver Education Course, you will need to bring an Impact Texas Teen Driver ITTD video completion certificate IN PRINTED
  • If you completed an Adult 6-Hour course you must have IN PRINTED FORM a valid Impact Texas Young Adult ITAD Video certificate. You MUST choose this option even if you are 25 or older and are not required to take driver education.
  • If under 24: A Valid DE964 (Teen Course) or ADEE (Adult Course) driver education completion certificate IN PRINTED FORM.
  • If using your own vehicle: Valid Insurance Card and a vehicle capable of passing inspection. You must have a current registration sticker on the windshield and front and back license plates on the car.
  • You can use our vehicle at no extra charge.

Unfortunately, due to the State of Texas Laws concerning third-party testing, we can not provide Road Testing to individuals who are being required to Road Test under a court order.

RESCHEDULING: If you need to reschedule your road test appointment, you must notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid a $35 fee. This fee will apply if you reschedule your appointment less than 24 hours in advance, show up more than 5 minutes late to your appointment, or fail to bring any required documents to your road test. You have 90 days to reschedule your appointment or make a second attempt. After 90 days, you can no longer reschedule.
