Documents and Fees for Your Drive Smart Road Test

Before booking, read the current Drive Smart road-test requirements. The documents you need depend on your age and licensing situation. Bring the required original documents, check their expiration dates and arrive ready to test.

Documents to check

• Your valid Texas learner license or Texas Class C license with restriction B.
• The correct driver education completion documents when required.
• Your current Impact Texas Drivers completion certificate.
• Any additional documents listed for your age on the booking page.

An adult course certificate is not a permit or license. If you are under 18, review the teen course, learner-license holding period and driving-log requirements before selecting a test date.

Current Road-Test Fees

• Road Test Only: $80.
• Same Day Road Test: $100, Monday through Friday, cash payment.
• Teen Practice Test + Official Road Test: $120.
• Road Test + DPS Document Upload: $120, for eligible U.S. citizens.
• Teen Practice Test + Official Road Test + DPS Document Upload: $160, for eligible U.S. citizens.

Arrival, rescheduling and cancellations

Arrive early with all required documents. The booking rules include a five-minute grace period and a $35 rescheduling fee for applicable late arrivals or missing documents. Review the full policy before booking; it explains cancellations, refunds and retest deadlines.

Where can I test?

Drive Smart offers road tests in Carrollton and The Colony. The Colony offers road tests only. In-person classes and driving lessons are in Carrollton.
